Trauma & PTSD Recovery

Guiding you to process negative experiences while staying safe

  • Perhaps you’re feeling overwhelmed but you’re not sure why? Or maybe you’ve always just felt not good enough.

  • Maybe you struggle to manage your emotions e.g. you might often feel on edge or sad and hopeless.

  • You can’t pinpoint any specific traumatic events and your childhood was okay so why are you struggling today?

  • Maybe you’re experiencing flashbacks and feel constantly threatened following a specific traumatic incident.

You may have arrived here because…

Whatever your reason for being here, I’m glad that you found me. Please read on for more detail about my trauma therapy service.

What is trauma?

Trauma is what happens inside you after something overwhelming happens to you.

But trauma doesn’t always come from a specific ‘event’.

Symptoms like post-traumatic stress can definitely come from a one-off event (e.g. an attack or car accident). But trauma also comes from ongoing situations where you felt unsafe (e.g. a controlling relationship or bullying).

Childhood experiences like being shouted at or neglected also cause trauma symptoms because they threaten your safety, sense of self, and how you relate to your emotions.

I’m experienced in working with different types of trauma including PTSD, complex PTSD and childhood trauma.

How I can help you heal from trauma.

With many clients there isn’t just one ‘big’ event but a series of experiences. I help clients to connect their past with how they feel in the present.

Using EMDR therapy I guide you to feel safer in the present, process past experiences, and grow your sense of self.

To support EMDR, I draw from a range of approaches — including attachment-focused EMDR, parts therapy, somatic therapy, and inner child therapy — to support you as a whole person, not just the parts that got hurt.

My experiences working with trauma

Supporting people through healing is a privilege. I’ve seen how powerful it is when clients begin to live with more peace and confidence.

My own therapy journey helped me make sense of my past and build a stronger sense of self. I know how life-changing it can be to realise you were never to blame – and that you deserve healthier relationships with others and a kinder one with yourself.
